WEEK 11 - June 22, 2014
At St Charles - RANGERS TRIO NO HIT TIGERS
Spencer Ott, Fletcher Mackel, and Howard Farmer combined to no hit the Tigers and remain in a tie for first place with the Reds. The Rangers scored in every inning in their 18-0 victory. Top hitters for the Rangers were Ernie Neves 2-3 RBI, Bob Oster 2-4, 3 RBI, Leo LeBlanc 2-2 RBI, and Scott Wagner 2-2, 2 RBI. The Rangers improve to 8-0-1 while the Tigers fall to 2-7 on the season.
Game 2 - CUBS DEFEAT SOX
In game 2 at St. Charles the Cubs defeated the White Sox 6-2. Paul Mancuso picked up his 3rd victory in relief of Chip Lofton. Mancuso entered the game in the fourth inning with the bases loaded and two outs. Mancuso struck out the leadoff hitter on three pitches to get out of the jam. Mancuso pitched 5.1 innings striking out 11 and giving up 3 hits. Top hitters for the Cubs were Boomer Newman 2-3, 2 2B, 2 RBI, and Rick Hudson 2-3 RBI. Dyron Morris went 2-4 for the Sox. The Sox fall to 4-5 while the Cubs improve to 3-6.
At Bonnabel - REDS STAY IN FIRST PLACE WITH WIN
In game one at Bonnabel the Reds defeated the Dodgers 8-0 behind the 3 hit shutout pitching performance of Fred Alfred and Ben Connole. Alfred threw 7 innings of shutout ball, to improve to 4-0. Connole tossed two innings walking one and striking out 4. Top hitters for the Reds were Robin Troullier 2-3, 2 RBI, Mike Lee 2-4, Lance Permillion 2-4 and Ben Connole 1-2, 2B, 2 RBI. Jimmy Barta tossed a complete game and fell to 3-2 on the year. The Reds improved to 8-0-1 while the Dodgers fell to 5-4 on the season.
Game 2 - CARDINALS MOVE IN TO TIE FOR THIRD PLACE WITH WIN
In the second game at Bonnabel the Cardinals defeated the Phillies 11-5. Blake Benoit (1-1) picked up the win for the Cards. Top hitters for the Cardinals were Gwain Roundtree 3-4, 2B, 2 RBI, Boot Caldarera 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, Craig Robicheaux 2-3, RBI, and Jay Ledet, 2-3, 2B, RBI. The Phillies were lead at the plate by Cyril St Cyr 3-3 2B, and Kelvin Lebeau 2-4 RBI. The Phillies fall to 0-9 while the Cardinals improve to 5-4 on the season.

At Bonnabel - CUBS DEFEAT DODGERS
Three Cubs pitchers held the Dodgers to 7 hits and 3 runs in their 8-3 victory in game 1 at Bonnabel. Chip Lofton picked up the win for the Cubs tossing 6 innings giving up 4 hits and 1 unearned run. The Cubs were led at the plate by Dan Newman 3 for 4, 3B, Phil Leblanc 3 for 4, 2B, RBI, and Greg Cahill 2 for 4, 2RBI. Derek Cusick suffered the loss for the Dodgers. Virgil Ladner led the Dpdgers at the plate going 2 for 4.
Game 2 - RANGERS POUND OUT 25 HITS IN VICTORY
The Rangers scored in all 7 innings and twelve out of thirteen hitters got at least one hit in their 21-7 victory over the Phillies. The victory sets up a showdown with the Reds, who won earlier in the day, for sole possession of first place next week. Top hitters for the Rangers were Brian Kennedy 4 for 4, 2 RBI, Kevin Senior 3 for 4, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, Craig Quintal 3 for 4, 2B, 3 RBI, and Ralph Oster 3 for 4, 2 RBI. Fletcher Mackel, starting his first game, picked up the win for the Rangers. Top hitters for the Phillies were Clarence Batiste 3 for 4, 2 RBI, and Reginald Brown 2 for 3.
At St. Charles - REDS DEFEAT SOX TO SET UP SHOWDOWN WITH RANGERS
The Reds scored in every inning on way to their 14-3 victory over the White Sox. Fred Alfred improved to 3-0 on the year. Ben Cannole, Brian Singleton, and Lowell Gauff, all had 2 its for the Reds. Gauff, Singleton, and Jacques Jobert each had 2 RBI. Lynn Brehm went 3 for 3, while Mark Hampton and Shannon Richards had 2 hits and a RBI for the Sox.
At Southland - CARDINALS DEFEAT TIGERS IN LAST AT BAT
Corey Sullivan delivered a RBI single with none out in the bottom of the sixth to give the Cardinals a thrilling 14-13 victory over the visiting Tigers. The Cards scored 10 runs in the first two innings to take a 10-6 lead after two complete. The Tigers scored 4 runs in the top of the six to tie the game at 13-13. That set the stage for Sullivan to deliver his game-winning hit. Leading the Tigers at the plate were Travis Puls 2 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI, Randy Scheuermann, Billy Bourgeois, and Daryl Ford with two hits each. Gwain Roundtree 2 for 3, 2B, 3RBI, was top hitter for the Cardinals.
