Week 11

June 26, 2011

In our 1st game of 4 here at Bonnabel the Cubs defeated the Cardinals 7 - 2. The Cubs were led by Allyn Hughes 2 for 2, 1RBI; Dan Newman 2 for 3, 1RBI; and Stephen Ceravolo 2 for 4, 1RBI. Paul Mancuso picked up the win and had 11 strikeouts in 5 innings. Leading the Cardinals offense were Blake Benoit 3 for 3, 1HR, 1RBI; and Brian Cavalier 2 for 3.

Our 2nd gamesaw the Victory All Stars beating the Marlins 15 - 5. Leading the All stars were Mike Lee 3 for 4, 2DBL, 2RBI; Leo Leblanc 3 for 4; and Albert Causey 2 for 3, 1Hr., 3Rbi. Mike Lee got the win for the All Stars. Eddie Francois and Ronnie Schowath each had 2 hits for the Marlins.

In our 3rd game the Dodgers edged out the Yankees 7 - 5. The Dodgers were led by Miguel Torres 2 for 2; Wayne Messa 2 for 4; and Ed Vollenweider 2 for 4, 1Hr., 2RBI. Derek Cusick picked up the win for the Dodgers. Andre Jackson and Rick Phibert had 2 hits apiece for the Yankees.

In the final game at Bonnabel the Tigers beat the Phillies 11 - 8. Jerry Nelson 2 for 3, 2Rbi; Angel Ramirez 2 for 3, 2Rbi; and Kevin Haydel 1 for 2, 1Dbl, 2Rbi. led the way for the Tigers. steve Kohn picked up the in his return back after a scare 2 weeks ago. The Phillies were led by Will Hamaker 2 for 2, 1Dbl, 1Hr. 2Rbi.; Spencer Ott and Darrel Ricks each had 2 hits for the Phillies.

WEEK 10

Our 1st game between the Cubs and the Tigers was rained out and will be made up at a later date. Talk is that they will play a doubleheader since both of their games with each other was cancelled.

Our 2nd game saw the Marlins and the Phillies battle to a 9 - 9 tie. The game went back and forth for all 7 innings. The Marlins were led by Terry Duffy 2 for 3, 1RBI; Todd LeBourgeois 2 for 4; Rory Cadres 1 for 2, 1DBL. For the Phillies Spencer Ott was 3 for 3, 1DBL, 1RBI; Chris Ricks 2 for 2, 1DBL, 1RBI; Will Hamiker and Jon Talbot were each 2 for 3.

Our 3rd game at Bonnabel had the Victory All Stars scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the last inning to come from behind and beat the Yankees 15 - 14. The All Stars were led by Albert Causey 2 for 2, 1RBI; Tim Moffett 1 for 2, 1DBL, 1RBI; and Al Polk 1 for 2, 1DBL, 2RBI. Eric Castle picked up the win for the All Stars. The Yankees were led by Andre Jackson 3 for 3, 1DBL, 3RBI; Reggie Lane 3 for 4, 1DBL; and Glenn Schiaffino 3 for 4, 1DBL.

Down Thibodaux way the Cardinals beat up on the Dodgers 8 - 5. Leading the Cardinals were Eric Waguesback 2 for 4, 1DBL; and Joe Lamartino 1 for 3, 2RBI. Lou Guillot picked up the win for the Cardinals. The Dodgers were led by Ed Vollenweider 3 for 4, 1DBL, 3RBI; and James Brossette 2 for 4, 1RBI.

Week 9

June 5, 2011

n the 1st game at Bonnabel the Cardinals beat the Victory All Stars 10 - 9. The Cardinals offense was led by Leo Delaune 3 for 3, 1RBI; Joe Lamartina 2 for 3, Craig Robicheaux 2 for 3, 1DBL, 1HR, 3RBI, and Gwain Roundtree 2 for 3. Travis Gros got the win. Al Polk led the All Stars going 1 for 2 with 3RBI.

Our 2nd game had the Cubs defeating the Phillies 14 - 6. Pacing the Cubs were Boome Newman 3 for 4, Steve Stropolo 3 for 4, Chet Hirstius 2 for 2, 3RBI, and Phil Leblanc 2 for 3. Paul Mancuso picked up the win for the Cubs strikiung out 14 batters in 5 innings. Leading the Phillies offense was Ernest Neves going 3 for 4.

Our 3rd game saw the Yankees beating the Marlins 12 - 4. Jimmy Buckel led the Yankees going 3 for 4, 1TPL; Everall Jackson was 2 for 3, 2RBI. Andre Jackson got the win Throwing a complete game for the Yankees. Francois led the Marlins 2 for 3.

In our 4th game and most exciting game the Tigers came from behind in the bottom of the 8th to score 2 runs to defeat the Dodgers 14 - 13. Playing late into the nite the the Tigers were led by Brian Addison 4 for 4, Jerry Nelson 3 for 4, 1DBL, 3RBI, Rob Voros 3 for 4, and Harold Buoch 2 for 2. Billy Bourgeois picked up the win for the Tigers. Leading the Dodgers were Wayne Messa 3 for 3, 1DBL. Ed Vollenweider 3 for 5, Phil Wangerin 2 for 4 1RBI.

Steve Kohn of the Tigers gave us a scare with severe chest pains in the 7th inning and was rushed to the hospital. I am glad to report today that he is doing well in the CCU unit of East Jefferson, Room G, Any well wishers may call to speak to him or drop in to say hello. Our prayers are with you Steve for a complete recovery.

WEEK 8

May 11, 2011

In our 1st game at Bonnabel the Dodgers defeated the Marlins 9 - 4. The Dodgers offense was led by: Wangerin 2 for 2, 2RBI, Ed Vollenweider 1 for 4, 3RBI, Messa 2 for 3. Cusick picked up the win for the Dodgers. Leading hitters for the Marlins were: L. Brehm, D. Brazley, and J. Vargas each pounding out 2 hits apiece.

Our 2nd game had the Cubs beating the Yankees 10 - 5. Leading the Cubs were; Paul Mancuso 2 for 3, 1DBL, 2RBI, and Steve Stropolo 2 for 3, 1TRP, 1RBI. Chip Loftin was the winning pitcher for the Cubs. The Yankees had Ricky Plauche and Kris Sekinger each getting 2 hits.

Our 3rd game saw the Phillies defeating the Victory All Stars 7 - 3. The Phillies were led by; Randy Lanoux 3 for 3, 1RBI, Ernest Neves 2 for 3, Brandon and Rudy St. Amand 2 for 3, and Russell Roy 2 for 3. Neves picked up the win for the Phillies. Melvin Howard was 2 for 3, 1RBI for the All Stars.

Way down in Thibodaux the Cardinals posted a 6 - 5 thriller over the visiting Tigers. Don't have the line score as of this writing but know that Gwain Roundtree got the win for the Cardinals.
