**Cubs win, cubs win**

Well, behind the superb pitching of Paul Mancuso, the Cubs defeated the Cardinals from Thibodaux by the score of 7 - 0. Paul gave up 1 hit in the 3rd and then preceded to strike out 16, in 9 innings of baseball. Anthony Hebert got the only hit for the Cardinals. The Cubs were led by; Dan Newman 3 for 3, 1RBI, Billy Thompson 2 for 2, Phil Leblanc 1 for 3, 2RBI, and Steve Ceravolo 1 for 2, 1RBI. The Cubs scored 2 runs in the 1st and then 3 more runs in the 5th to build a commanding lead of 5 - 0. They then added 1 more in the 7th and 8th innings to make the final score 7 - 0.

Week 17 Semi-finals

In our 1st semi-final game, the Cubs outscored the Tigers 8 - 1. the Cubs banged out 15 hits, led by: Chip Loftin 3 for 3, 1DBL, 1HR. 2RBI; Kevin Martin 2 for 2, Steve Ceravolo 2 for 4, 2RBI, Paul Mancuso 2 for 3. Paul also pitched another great game striking out 15 in 7 innings while picking up the win. Getting 2 hits for the Tigers was Allen Rome.

In our 2nd semi-final game, the Thibodaux Cardinals scored the winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning to defeat the Victory All Stars 9 - 8. Leading the Cardinals offense were: Blake Benoit and Craig Robicheaux both going 2 for 3, "Boot" Calderera drove in 3 runs while going 1 for 3. Travis Gros got the win. Mike Lee led the All Stars going 2 for 3, 1RBI.

WELL WE GOT THEM ALL IN!!! In our 1st game at Bonnabel the Cubs defeated the Marlins 11 - 0. Leading the Cubs offense were: Phil Leblanc 2 for 3, 1DBL, 3RBI, Steve Stropolo 2 for 2, 1RBI; Billy Thompson 2 for 4, 2RBI; Dan Newman 2 for 3, 1RBI. Paul Mancuso gave up 2 hits in 6 innings while striking out 10 batters to pick up the win for the Cubs. Lynn Brehm and Todd LeBourgeois got the only 2 hits for the Marlins.

Our second game saw the Thibodaux Cardinals beating the Yankees 8 - 3. For the Cardinals it was Travis Gros going 2 for 2, 1DBl, 1RBI; Anthony Hebert 1 for 2, 1DBL, 2RBI; and Eric Waguesback 1 for 3, 1DBL, 2RBI, leading the offense with Louis Guillot picking up the win. The Yankees were led by Ricky Philbert 2 for 3.

Our 3rd game at Bonnabel had the Tigers winning 13 -10. For the Tigers Rob Voros 4 for 4, 1DBL, 1RBI; Odell Beckham 3 for 3, 1HR. 3RBI; Tim Flores 2 for 3, 1DBL, 3RBI. Tom Baer went the distance for the win for the Tigers. On the Dodgers side, it was Greg Batastella 2 for 4, 3RBI; Mickey Gallagher 2 for 2, 2DBL, 3RBI; Eric Nolting 2 for 3, 1RBI; Ed Vollenweider 2 for 4, 1RBI.

Our final game at Bonnabel saw the Victory All Stars advancing to the semi-finals, by beating the Phillies 8 - 4. Leading the All Stars were Tim Moffett 4 for 4, 1DBL, 1RBI; and Melvin Howard 2 for 4, 1RBI. Eric Castle picked up the win for the All Stars. The Phillies scattered 7 hits, and came up a little short.
